Behavioural Supports Ontario - Online Learning Resources LogoThe Behavioural Supports Services (BSS) initiative aims to provide a blend of self-directed and mentored online learning opportunities for Mobile Response Team (MRT) members and their LTC liaisons.

The objective is to optimize team-building within the MRT group as well as providing them with the skills to engage with and maintain collaborative engagement with their LTC clients.  Through the sharing of information, education and mentorship, the MRT Team and LTC work together to deliver person-centred care for the elderly in Long-term Care homes.

Behavioural Supports Ontario Online Learning This course contains self-paced learning activities, including discussion forums and a pre and post assessment quiz designed to cultivate effective team-based person-centred care for responsive behaviours.

The course focuses on developing knowledge and skills in five areas: communication skills in the work environment with patients, families and staff, team relationships and collaboration, team roles, dealing with conflict at work and exploring 'Personhood' and the 'lived experience' of the resident. Discussion forums will be monitored and moderated by a behavioural health care knowledge broker and will provide a platform for participants to share ideas, experiences and resources.
