Overview of Depression & the Older Adult
It is difficult to recognize
depression as it can be overlooked as a symptom of another condition in an
older person. It is often though that depression must be a normal part of
aging. Many older people themselves were raised at a time when there was a stigma
of having depression and it was hidden. Depression is more than feeling sad and
it is important to know what to watch for as symptoms are often subtle.
