  • Open Course: Overview of the Brain & Behaviour

    Illustration of the Brain and it's parts

    This open course provides an overview of the Physiology & Functionality of the Brain and the effects of the 7 A's ( Anosognosia, Amnesia, Aphasia, Agnosia, Apraxia, Altered Perception and Apathy) and the associated brain part affected as two distinct modules.

    Each module provides an interactive flash-based module which provides details on the specific part of the brain and it's function, the impact of dysfunction in the brain part and care strategies to use when caring for the person with the associated cognitive dysfunction.


    REQUIREMENTS: You will need to have the Adobe Flashplayer installed on your computer, permission to run the flash player (which may have to be sest by your system administrator) and your browser should be set to accept pop-up windows.


    • The Physiology of the Brain

      This animated interactive module describes the key functions associated with each part of the brain, a description of the issues that can arise from an aging or compromised brain part and effective care strategies.

    • Brain Dysfunction & the 7 A's

      This interactive module lists the 7 A's ( Anosognosia, Amnesia, Aphasia, Agnosia, Apraxia, Altered Perception and Apathy), the brain part affected by the condition and how it the functionality of the brain along with suggested care strategies.
